Calgrade was made by VIT students for VIT students to help them Calculate their GPA, CGPA and even convert it to 4 point scale without any hassle. This was a personal project with my colleague but meant to help college students.

OVERVIEW
Problem Statement
Calculating GPA or CGPA based on individual grades is quite a task because of the complex calculation and variables involved depending on the credits and grade of that elective. Each university has a different grading system and method which is why a generic grade calculator cannot be used. On the other hand, there's only one online website to calculate VIT grades but the user experience isn't satisfying and sometimes it is down due to server issues.

Objectives
Our goal was to make life in college easier for the students in getting grades. Well, just the calculation part. But this is what we can do:

Find out your GPA for any semester based on your grades.

Calculate your CGPA based on your credits and GPA from previous semesters.

I started off by sketching the low-fidelity wireframes to visualize the basic web interface.
DESIGNING
Final Screens
The visual elements have a theme of cartoony astronaut characters which I've animated to create short looping GIFs. Apart from that, I decided to put some fun elements into the user journey. I thought of placing some relatable character elements according to the result of the user when the user calculates his/her grade. Additionally, the user can switch between light and dark modes.
