OVERVIEW
Introduction
Countdown is a global initiative, powered by TED and Future Stewards, to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis. The goal: to build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 towards reaching net zero by 2050.

By interacting with the environment, you learn about the problem and individual action to help combat the threat of climate change, loss of nature, and pollution that these ecosystems are facing. Thereafter, you bear witness to the environments reimagined, recreated, and restored before being invited to make your pledge to join #JoinTheCountdown and show the world what you will do to heal nature.
THE PROCESS
Design
I used Photoshop to design the background by manipulating a 3d HDRI map to make a dystopian version of the same image. I thought of putting a 3D respirator mask on the users to emphasize the disastrous effects of climate change. I used blender to model and texture it which was then imported to Spark AR Studio for the final compilation.
HOW IT WORKS
Interactions
Users can simply tap on the screen to toggle between the two worlds. I used the Face interface to put the mask on the user's face.
